The City of Naples municipality is only a small portion of the greater Naples area and the majority of neighborhoods in the Naples metro area fall outside of city limits in unincorporated Collier County. The Naples city limits encompass areas such as Old Naples, Aqualane Shores, Little Harbor, Port Royal, Key Island, Royal Harbor, Oyster Bay, Naples Island, Mangrove Bay, River Park, Lake Park, Coquina Sands, Moorings, Park Shore, Seagate, Bears Paw, Estuary at Grey Oaks, Avion Park and Moorings Park.
Outside of the Naples City Limits is unincorporated Collier County which is divided into various vernacular regions such as East Naples, Central Naples, Golden Gate, and North Naples. These areas are part of the unincorporated county and are not subject to city code and City of Naples property taxes.
